Do not be Afraid, Only Believe

January 19, 2016

With the confusion and uncertainty of life wisdom, courage and patience will be needed in 2016. A New Year brings another opportunity for us all to learn from our mistakes of 2015, put the past behind us, to embrace both the good and the bad things that will no doubt come our way in 2016. To ‘embrace’ is to hold one another closely in the arms as a sign of affection. If we are believers we can trust that God will be by our side and will give us the wisdom, courage, strength and patience we will need to deal with the things that come our way.

Have faith, Hebrews 11:1 describes faith as being sure of what we hope for, and certain of what we do not see, so it’s a quality we are going to need in big supply if we are to achieve and fulfil God’s plan for us during 2016. We have to strengthen our faith by reading and believing in God’s Word, praying, spending time with positive people, reading stories about people who have achieved things that seemed impossible.

However, without hope we fall into despair. Why? Because we believe that things will never change. So it is important to retain a little hope. No matter how bleak, things seem, forget the past and embrace the future. We all have experienced things in our life we would rather forget. Leave behind the pain, the mistakes, shame and disappointment of 2015 and look forward to the success, joy and blessing we will experience in 2016.

Philippians 3:13, 14:  Like the Apostle Paul, we can say ‘Forgetting what is behind and reaching toward what is ahead, I press toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called us in Christ Jesus’.

You are God's masterpiece!

September 29, 2015
Last Sunday we read this verse together, "You are God's masterpiece, created anew in Christ Jesus, to do good works which God prepared beforehand for us" (Ephesians 2v.10)
Christians have an amazing gift from God - a new life - the old has gone, the new has come - because of Jesus' death on the cross. In fact, this verse tells us that God not only 'created' us 'anew', but that we are his master craftmanship, His work of art, made and being made useful for his purposes and to walk in his ways. O...

Great to see new people speaking - 24th November!

November 27, 2013
We had a great day on the 24th. The Youth-led service was an inspiration and it was so good to hear Samantha Jones speak for the first time on the topic "What would we do without the Almighty?". She challenged us not to be like Lot who was a 'hanger-on' with the people of God and never really committed himself - people were challenged to be committed and disciplined as Christians and to give their heart to the Lord if they hadn't done so. God is so good - somebody become a Christian that day!...
